DEMO/EP ROUNDUP - Two Too Many and Sordid Dogs
We continue delving into the murky underground where demos, EPs, singles and mini-albums reside ...
Let's get 'er started with some old school hard rock/metal with TWO TOO MANY's two-sided single Got My Rock'N'Roll / Drift Away (Bandcamp). Opener 'Got My Rock'N'Roll' goes straight for the RNR funny bone, rockin' hard and fast with a carefree refrain of "Oh - fuck it all! I've got my rock'n'roll!". Nothing complicated, just beer guzzling hard rock with rollicking guitar solos for those looking for a good time. 'Drift Away' on the other hand borrows Motorhead's 'America' riff, a hard rockin' track with a vocal that reminds me of Scott "Wino" Weinrich of The Obsessed fame. Fun stuff. [7]
When we last encountered SORDID DOGS on their split with Dogs48, we discovered a rowdy hardcore punk band with nods to thrash, grind and black metal. If anything, Neo-Fascist Fleming System (a split with Agathocles) finds the Greek extremists doubling down on the grind aspect. "Corrupt System' exists for a blistering 30 seconds before giving way to a 21-second cover of Napalm Death's 'Blind To The Truth'. So, yeah, less than a minute in total, making it hard to rate. What it all comes down to is, how much do like your HC punk/grind? If you imbibe often, you will not be disappointed. Abrasive. [7]
